ABOUT EVENT:

After over 8 years of Crazycat, we're closing the chapter with Own Your Crazy: A Conversation on Unshrinking & Owning Your Story, our last event, and maybe our most personal one yet.

"Crazy" is often just the word used to dismiss what doesn't fit neatly into who we're expected to be — a woman's intensity, emotion, ambition, or instinct, deemed too much the moment it exceeds what's comfortable for everyone else. Many of us learn early to sand these parts of ourselves down, trading authenticity for palatability, as daughters, partners, professionals, perhaps mothers, and women navigating a world that rewards being easy over being real.

Through a panel discussion with three incredible speakers who will share their raw and honest reflections on unshrinking and reclaiming the parts of themselves they once hid, we hope to harness their stories to foster deeper connections with one another. This would be a space to hold the more difficult, vulnerable and often necessary conversation that we may not usually have.

Own Your Crazy: A Conversation on Unshrinking and Owning Your Story is an opportunity for us to firstly acknowledge the parts of ourselves we've hidden away to fit in, and then recognise that reclaiming them isn't just self-acceptance, it's our superpower.

What can we do, as a community, to make space for each other's full, unapologetic selves? We hope to encourage attendees to lean into vulnerability as we offer a safe and brave space to feel less alone on their own unique journeys, and to mark, together, this final Crazycat gathering.

SPEAKERS

Alia Ballout
Alia Ballout is an entrepreneur, athlete, storyteller, and former corporate lawyer passionate about the intersection of culture, mindset, and human potential. As the founder of Beît Ballout, Singapore’s first olive oil brand, she is on a mission to bridge her Singaporean and Lebanese heritage by bringing the rich traditions, stories, and craftsmanship of the Levant to Singapore. Through Beît Ballout, she preserves her family’s olive-growing legacy while creating meaningful conversations around culture, identity, and community. A lifelong athlete, Alia believes mindset is the foundation of everything—from business and sport to personal growth—and her work explores the courage to take up space, embrace adversity, and own your story. Having grown up between Singapore, Oman, and Lebanon, she brings a unique perspective on belonging, resilience, and building a life rooted in purpose.

Preeti Nair
Preeti Nair, better known as Preetipls (Singapore’s TOP everything), is best known for her satirical comedy videos on social media. She believes that being an ‘influencer’ means having the opportunity to use her platform and influence to spread humour, positive social change and raise awareness about causes that are close to her heart.

Shazza
Shareefa Aminah, known to the music world as shazza, wrote her first proper song when she was all of 11 and hasn’t been able to stop since. Born and raised in sunny Singapore, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter grew up surrounded by music at home, with the odd combination of Norah Jones and the Black Eyed Peas becoming the soundtrack to her childhood.

Inspired by the likes of ABBA, Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, and Harry Styles, shazza makes full use of the freedom that music offers, seeking to keep exploring with sounds and aiming toward a discography that speaks to just about anyone. The Forbes 30-under-30 honouree also has her heart set on breaking boundaries and sparking change. Growing up, shazza hardly saw anyone who looked like her making music the way she dreamed of doing. She aims to be the change, and to be that person for future generations, bringing more representation to the table with her music and her presence in the industry.
