our crazycat story

Videography Shafiq Affandi

Crazycat started from a simple hashtag five years ago - #shineonyoucrazycat - a small token of appreciation for all the inspiring women that our founder, Sarah, met along the way. These women are your everyday women — women just like us who do their best to serve their own purpose. There, we decided to build a community, a safe space, a platform for us, everyday women to come together – as Crazycats. Women who can embrace their authentic self accompanied with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. At our core, Crazycat can be defined as champions of individuality.

Founder
Sarah Bagharib

Sarah believes that everyone has a story to tell and has made it her life’s mission to lend her voice so some of those stories can be heard. Her humanitarian efforts span across many different projects and spirit of community-building is imbued in all that she does.

She’s a former documentary producer/director who once went undercover to film the lives of asylum seekers and refugees in Indonesia. This curiosity to seek truths and highlight the realities of the voiceless has led her to her current role as a communications officer at an international medical humanitarian aid organisation.

As a woman who’s still on the journey of self-discovery, she finds it important to support and empower other women who like her, may tend to amplify their weaknesses and discredit their strengths - that’s how Crazycat came to light! This INFJ recognises that she’s a work in progress and has a long way in learning how to cope with her anxiety and self-doubt, but she finds strength and courage in knowing that she is not alone.
